My name's Rob, I've been coming to Flipside for a few years. I'm a professional videographer and I had this idea of coming out this year and shooting some footage of the fire dancers to put together a little video, both for myself and for anyone else in the community who would appreciate such a thing. Unfortunately i wasn't able to make Flipside this year, but I was hoping to do to try the same thing at Decomp. But before I do I just wanted to throw the idea out to the community and see if folks were generally cool with it before I roll in with a big-ass HD camera and piss anybody off - I definitely won't film anybody who doesn't want to be filmed, but some of that stuff is way too cool to not be put on camera.
Also, if anybody knows anything about fire shows that will be going on this year I'd appreciate the info - I've never actually been to Decomp so I don't know how it stacks up against Flipside as far as organization and quality of performances and what not, for all I know nobody will even be spinning flame at Decomp - but if anybody likes this idea and knows who and when and where as far as fire shows are concerned, please feel free to message me here.

Mon, June 30, 2008 - 10:19 PMAww, well i didnt see a big-ass camera, or this post in time; so im guessing it didnt make it out.
Although i cant speak for anybody but myself, Most fire spinners tend to be attention whores; at least when performing. Of course you would have to ask permission first, i think it would be most appreciated if you sent a copy to the performer.
I will be performing this coming Saterday at the Enchanted Forrest' "Fire HoDown". Other performers include Austin's own Sangre Del Sol, and Luminosity from Huston.
